Momma here to tell you a little bit about our family before you came along. It's hard to think of a life without you in it but there was a time when it was just you Dad & I (plus a lot of pets)!
Your Dad and I met in veterinary school at Mississippi State University. We both went to college there also and boy was it fun! We sure hope you enjoy college too and even though we would LOVE going to visit you in Starkville we'll be fans of your Alma mater wherever you end up!

We dated for a few years then got married right out of vet school on May 9, 2009.

We started working and found out we were going to have a baby (who turned out to be little old you) in February 2010!

We were really excited but a little nervous too when we found out you were on your way! All of your grandparents and your aunts were so happy to find out about you.

We all had to wait a long time to find out you were a little boy - we didn't find out until about 14 weeks later. Your Dad & I had a competition of who could guess whether you'd be a boy or a girl- Dad won! For some reason I just knew the doctor would tell us you were going to be a girl (I had even bought a bunch of little girly dresses for you).
We were soooo excited about you being a little boy but we had some trouble coming up with your name...we considered Andrew, Cooper, Wesley and Clayton...but in the end, Caleb was perfect just like you turned out to be! Your middle name, Robert, is from your Dad's dad's name and that was from his father's name. So you are named after your Grandfather and your Great Grandfather Fisher.
You were such a great pregnancy!

I hardly ever felt sick while carrying you, I did have to eat pretty often because I got hungry pretty quick...that should have been a tip off that you were a little boy. I did have a few pregnancy cravings...Strawberry Milkshakes and spicy Cheetos. I hated the smell of Buffalo wings and coffee grounds but I still made your Daddy coffee every morning before work.
We had pictures taken while I was pregnant with you. I still can't believe how big my belly was!
You were in no hurry to be born, that's for sure! You were due on October 1, 2010. You Grandma Bell came to visit for two whole weeks and you tried to make her miss your birth, I suppose you were just pretty comfy right where you were. The day you were due we went out to dinner and even walked around downtown to try to hurry you up- but you were a no-show. Two days later we joined our church and when Pastor Canterbury asked when you were due and heard our reply he was so surprised! Finally, when we went for a check up with my doctor he suggested that we induce- or make me go into labor. That night, your Daddy woke us up at about 11:00pm and we headed to the hospital. I had been having little cramps all night and I just thought you were a little wiggly...as it turned out, I was already in labor and didn't even know it!

They started us on medications a little after midnight and finally you were born at 5:18 in the evening on Wednesday October 5, 2010! The doctor said your umbilical cord was wrapped around your neck and he had to use a suction tool to get you out quickly (you had a funny little bump on you head for a while afterward from it)! You were 7 pounds and 14 ounces and 20 3/4 inches long with brownish blond hair and blue eyes. You were a very strong little baby and you were so hungry right away! Boy could you scream loud too! You were absolutely perfect. I was so surprised at how amazing being your mother felt and your father was so happy to hold you that he even cried a little bit. It was one of the best nights of our lives.
Love,
Momma
